Lyon in the dark

I had high hopes for Lyon based on what I had heard about France's second biggest city, but now I have high hopes for going back and actually seeing it. Daylight savings time is really creating some problems for my already limited travel opportunities. But, we made the best of it.

As it turned out, getting lost and walking through the steep (and I mean, STEEP), cobblestoned streets of Vieux Lyon was our quick and dirty tour of the area. By the time we made it to our hostel, it was already getting dark and we were pretty starving.

We crossed the river to a more modern area of Lyon to find an early dinner. At least the view from the bridge was pretty!

After dinner, we braved the freezing cold long enough to walk around a bit to see the city. Finally, we broke down and bought some delicious pastries and warmed up with some hot chocolate. After that, it was early to bed and up early the next morning for our train to Roma!
