The greatest of mysteries regarding my travel to France was finally resolved on Monday. I knew nothing about my host family going into this, but I finally got to move in with them. I was very nervous and did know what to expect, but so far they seem wonderful. I live with a woman and two of her three children. The oldest daughter of the family is leaving to study in Lyon this Saturday so I'm living in her room. The other daughter is 17 and there is a 14 year old son. They are the tiniest, most beautiful people I have ever seen. The apartment, which is in the 9th arrondissement (district) of Paris, is also beautiful. It’s very old, but light and airy. I absolutely love my room! It is ‘tres petite’ and very cute. Pictures are below!
(I also have a "roommate" also known as their cat).

The dinners have been delicious. I'm quickly getting used to eating at 9pm even though it was a little bit strange at first. I'm also getting to used eating "un baguette" for EVERY meal. I've never eaten so much bread in my life. The French seem to defy every diet tip in the US (big, late meals, lots of carbs and butter...) but they are all so thin! Maybe it's all of the walking. Je ne sais pas!
omg your house is adorable and i am jealous. you're so PARISIAN
ReplyDeleteSpain is the same- I don't understand how anyone lives past 50 with this diet...
ReplyDeleteYour pictures look amazing, I can't wait untill I get to chance to come visit the city!
